CONCEPT
Le Ultime Ribelli nasce dall'osservazione ravvicinata di due giovani donne che hanno scelto di mettere in discussione la propria vita per un'idea più grande di loro: la necessità di agire di fronte alla crisi climatica. Carlotta e Alis hanno trasformato l'attivismo in una scelta radicale, mettendo in gioco il lavoro, gli affetti, il denaro e infine la propria libertà.
Ma il film non vuole soltanto raccontare una protesta o prendere posizione. Attraverso la relazione quotidiana tra le due attiviste e la regista Martina, il documentario entra nel territorio più fragile e universale del dubbio. Cosa accade quando la lotta per un ideale entra in conflitto con il desiderio di vivere? Quanto siamo davvero disposti a sacrificare per cambiare il mondo? E cosa rimane di una rivoluzione quando chi l'ha iniziata comincia a chiedersi se valga ancora la pena rischiare il proprio corpo e la propria libertà? Il film diventa così un'indagine intima sul confine tra impegno e sacrificio, tra convinzione e paura, tra il bisogno di cambiare il mondo e quello, altrettanto umano, di proteggere la propria vita.
The Last Rebels is born from an intimate observation of two young women who have chosen to question their own lives for an idea greater than themselves: the need to act in the face of the climate crisis. Carlotta and Alis have turned activism into a radical choice, putting their jobs, relationships, money and ultimately their freedom at stake.
The film does not simply seek to portray a protest or take a position. Through the everyday relationship between the two activists and the filmmaker Martina, the documentary enters the more fragile and universal territory of doubt. What happens when the struggle for an ideal comes into conflict with the desire to live? How much are we truly willing to sacrifice to change the world? And what remains of a revolution when those who started it begin to wonder whether it is still worth risking their bodies and their freedom? The film thus becomes an intimate exploration of the boundary between commitment and sacrifice, conviction and fear, between the need to change the world and the equally human need to protect one's own life.
