SINOSSI
La narrazione del documentario girato tra Parigi, Roma, Torino, nelle Valli del Cuneese e in Umbria, assume la forma di un viaggio scandito da una serie di incontri. Dalle fotografe Augusta Conchiglia e Giovanna Borgese alla scrittrice Sandra Petrignani, dall’etologa Elisabetta Visalberghi all’autrice e curatrice francese Florence Mauro, dall’editore Claudio Corrivetti al gallerista Matteo di Castro, dal fratello e storico Aldo Agosti al fotografo e compagno di vita Zoltan Nagy. A scandire la narrazione un contributo importante di fotografie selezionate nell’immenso Archivio della stessa fotografa. Il commento degli eventi storici è affidato al repertorio di Rai Teche che ripercorre tre decenni di storia internazionale. Allo stesso tempo, il racconto filmato ricostruirà dettagliatamente la storia delle sue fotografie più amate, la spinta che le ha determinate, i reportage, gli incontri. Ma farà luce anche sulle motivazioni dietro la ricerca delle radici, la cura della memoria, tanto cara alla fotografa soprattutto nella parte più matura della sua vita che la porterà a riscoprire le memorie familiari legate al padre Giorgio, antifascista, magistrato, tra i fondatori del Partito D’azione e alla madre Nini Castellani, fine traduttrice letteraria.
SYNOPSIS
The narrative of the documentary filmed between Paris, Rome, Turin, the Cuneo Valleys and Umbria, takes the form of a journey marked by a series of encounters with significant people in Paola Agosti’s life that allow her to review contents and periods of her professional and human journey, two planes that in her life have never been disjointed: from the photographers Augusta Conchiglia and Giovanna Borgese to the writer Sandra Petrignani, from the ethologist Elisabetta Visalberghi to the French author and curator Florence Mauro, from the publisher Claudio Corrivetti to the gallery owner Matteo di Castro, from her brother and historian Aldo Agosti to the photographer and life companion Zoltan Nagy. A major contribution of photographs selected from the immense Paola Agosti Archive in Turin scan the documentary’s narrative. The commentary on historical events is entrusted to Rai Teche’s repertory covering three decades of international history. At the same time, the filmed narrative will reconstruct in detail the history of her most popular photographs, the impulse that determined them, the reportages, the meetings. But it will also shed light on the motivations behind the search for roots, the care of memory, so dear to the photographer especially in the more mature part of her life that led her to rediscover family memories related to her father Giorgio, an anti-fascist, magistrate, among the founders of the Partito D’azione, and her mother Nini Castellani, a fine literary translator.
